hen I realized the new digs would be sporting original 1946 terrazzo floors, I was unsure about whether or not I'd be excited about them. I've always gravitated toward wood and was less than thrilled about having terrazzo. But, we've been in the house a few weeks now and it's starting to kinda grow on me! Here's the terrazzo in our house...

When I headed over to the design conference in Salt Lake I had quite a number of people comment on our terrazzo flooring and how much they loved it. So, I thought... hmnnn... maybe it's not so bad. My only worry?? New to walking toddler!! Eeeek!! But... other than that... it's starting to look kinda lovely.
What do you think? Wood, terrazzo, polished concrete, wall to wall carpet, tile?? What's your preference??
Stay tuned for Alt Day 2 Recap!
Hugs!

I didn't realize that your floors were stone, but I think they're lovely. Like you, I'm all about wood floors. Our condo came with laminate, but the boards are starting to move around and I'm trying to convince James to go with real wood -- maybe sometime in the next few years. It's so fun that we can keep tabs on the evolution of each other's homes from this far away! xo
I like the affordability and easy maintenance of laminate floors and they come in all types of patterns and colors. I also have a weakness for hardwood floors, especially the darker ones.
I had laminate wood flooring at my old place and they are easy to maintain. But, they started curling up after a while. :-(
In our first apartment in Fargo, we had lacquered poured concrete. I realize that's not the same as what you've got, but it had a similar effect. It was hard on our feet and backs, but I really liked it. We had to strategically place rugs in places we stood a lot — like in front of the kitchen sink.
Anything but wall to wall carpeting. Ick.
Agreed!
